Oskar and Hildegard Voith from Greding Germany
Oskar came from Egerland (Sudetenland) in what is today the Czech Republic. He and his family (and all people of German descent) were driven out after the Second World War by the Czechs. This was in response to Hitler's brutal treatment at the beginning of the war. Oskar was 6 yrs old. His home town is about 30 miles from Schoenfeld (today Krasno) from which our great grandfather Andreas Voith emigrated in 1866. We have not established a relationship at this time. We visited Oskar and Hildegard in Germany in 2000. They visited us this summer (2005) in Pittsburgh.
