About adjective order: yes, there is a reason.
Sort of. There is some flexibility, and sometimes
a few options work, but based on what the
characteristic the adjective describes, we have
an order in our head (see graphic). Luckily, it
seems that German follows the same patterns as
English... so it's not something to worry about
too much. (The only exception is that English
sometimes puts participles used as adjectives
after nouns, for example: "the people surveyed",
which German would never do (in German, the
participle would be in front). (Note: The above
example is probably a short way of saying
"the people who were surveyed").
