[Click] Substitute Personal Pronouns For Nouns
Bitte diese Seite fertig machen. - Finish this sheet, substitute personal pronouns for nouns. Do this one step at a time, paying attention to case and proper word order. Use the example as a reference.
[Click] Sentence Building (Einen Satz Bauen)
Ihr könnt eine beliebige Zeit wählen (Präsens, Imperfekt, Perfekt, Futur . . . )
It partially depends on the time phrase I provided. You are welcome to add a location
and a few adjectives and/or a relative clause or another dependent clause, if you feel comfortable.
However, I want you to start as small as possible to make sure your sentence structure is correct.
If you then add one piece after each other, you will be on the safe side.
[Click] Forming Sentences from sentence snippets
In the above sheet, try to reassemble the sentences (I took away capitalization for the beginning of the sentence and even split noun and adjective to challenge you more).
Be advised that there are two or three sentences with a short relative clause embedded additionally.
Here are some charts to help you:

Guten Tag,
heuten konntet ihr alle viel sprechen. Das ist prima!
Wir haben Fragen gestellt und wir haben sie beantwortet.
Wir haben Fragen korrigiert und auch Antworten korrigiert.
Wir haben einfache und schwierige Fragen gestellt.
Was für Fragen habt ihr gestellt?
Statt "was für" benutzen wir im Deutschen: welcher(r/s).
OK: Was für Hoffnungen hatte Elena?
besser: Welche Hoffnungen hatte Elena.
OK: Was für Probleme hatten die Kinder in der Schule?
besser: Welche Probleme hatten die Kinder in der Schule?
Hausaufgabe:
Baut einen komplizierten Satz, so wie im Beispiel unten (PDF).
[Click] Complex Sentence Construction
Choose a subject (wer), verb (center circle) and object (was?),
then step by step, build a complex sentence as in the example.
If you feel even more comfortable, try a dependent clause, sneak
a relative clause in, but, once again, step by step, so you can
check your grammar. Feel free to construct several such sentences.

Go back to our reading piece (Feb 12, "In der neuen Heimat angekommen") and write one question per paragraph.
We will exchange these questions in class next week and respond to each other. Thus, we will talk more first, before we get back to writing.

Listen to it several times. Have your print out ready while you are reading along. Then listen to one or two sentences, stop, read those aloud and continue like that all the way through. This can be really good pronunciation practice.
So this semester, speaking shall receive a much bigger part in our lessons.
