You won't need to study the new grammar;
rather I want you to read the pdf file:
Then mark areas where I used grammar that we just recently covered and/or last semester
- reflexive verb use,
- verbs with inseparable and separable prefixes,
- adjectives,
- comparatives, superlatives,
- possessive adjectives and/or pronouns,
- wenn, wann, als . . )

You'll be surprised how much you know, you sure will!!!

Hausaufgabe:
Complete the worksheets from class on comparative/superlative. Here they are:
[Click] Comparative/Superlative worksheets
Also, do another "elaborate sentence" using reflexive verbs.
October 10, 2018
Hausaufgabe:
If you didn't finish your "elaborate sentence" during class, please try to do this at home.
Then, from the selection of reflexive verbs below, please choose at least three of them and do the same.
sich ausruhen (to rest)
sich beeilen (to hurry)
sich entschuldigen (bei jdm) (to excuse oneself)
sich freuen (auf/ ber) (to be glad, to look forward to, to be happy about)
sich gew hnen (an) (to get used (to))
sich interessieren (f r) (to be interested (in))
sich vorstellen (to introduce yourself, to imagine (Dat.!)
sich weh tun (to hurt oneself (Dat.!)
Please start out with two plain, short sentences. Then combine them. Then think about whether you can add a little more information to it and go from there.
It's very important to start small; this way you have much more control over the grammar.
And, as always, please shoot me an email, if you have questions.
Also practice my "ch" - and sharp - sound practice sentence:

Use this link, along with its explanations below the article and the W rterbuch for additional vocabulary. Also listen to the audio.
Please find all reflexive verbs and other verbs with a preposition and/or both
We will start reading this article to each other next week, going over questions first in single groups and then as a whole again and then transferring to the grammar of comparison and superlative and the use of those as adjectives, so we are continuing our theme . . kind of . .
P.S.: for the "language nerds" amongst us, who want to know whether "alle" has to be/can be capitalized (at times):

Go to the the Nachrichten leicht-Artikel:
[Click] Strase gegen China
Use their audio several times and das W rterbuch. The idea in our class is to stand the "inconvenience" of not understanding everything immediately; use the W rterbuch first, read several times, one sentence at a time. Only when you find yourself pretty lost, start using the translation/dictionary site:

Hausaufgabe: in this article
- circle personal pronouns in (RED)
- circle reflexive pronouns in (BLUE)
- circle possessive pronouns in (GREEN)
That will be a good preparation for our next class.

HAUSAUFGABE:
1. Study the quizlets from September 12.

[Click] (Quizlet) - Some reflexive verbs with prepositions
2. Now lay the following sheet next to your computer.
[Click] Prepositions, Verbs, Reflexive Verbs examples
Try to understand this new sheet, one sentence at a time. Check each sentence to see whether it starts with the subject or not. Rearrange each sentence in different ways as demonstrated in class last week.
For visual people: WRITE it down, that can help tremendously! Then play again, transfer the sentence into present perfect, or future, or add a little something to it.
That's wonderful practice to get more comfortable with sentence structure.
3. For the following exercise, fill in the blanks with either personal, possessive or reflexive pronouns.

HAUSAUFGABE:
1. Reflexive Verbs and Prepositions: Please write at least six sentences using the verbs from today's reading piece. If you are advanced you can make up a little story. If you are just starting to learn the concept of a reflexive verb, please stick very plainly to a basic sentence to "just" get familiar with the reflexive pronouns. Here is an example: ([Click] to listen and read)
2. Listen to the audio for Lange Tage - kurze Tag ([Click]) for the second reading piece. Listen to it while reading along.
After a few times listen only, do not read along.
